Summary
The Shipping Expeditor II is responsible for packaging, weighing, and labeling of printed material for shipping to clients by mail, FedEx, DHL or UPS indicated by instructions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assembles specified number of items and cartons for each addressee as indicated by instructions
- Attaches identifying information and shipping instructions onto packages
- Provides required reports and shipping logs
- Inspect material for damage and report
- Processes outgoing shipments into computerized shipping systems
- Communicates with the Shipping Manager about the company’s needs and requirements
- Creates and ensures the accuracy of packing slips
- Performs routine quality control functions on print and postal report files created to ensure that specifications are correct and items are shipped on time
- Safely operates lift trucks or other material handling equipment and pallet jacks to move, convey or hoist shipments
- Manage the recycling trailer
- Handle material transfer
- Oversee transfers and shipments
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School or GED equivalent
- Must know the details of what each shipment to the Post Office needs
- Well versed in the qualifications of First Class, Presort First Class, Standard Mail, non-Profit Mail
- Experience with BCC Software/Mail Manager and understanding of mail barcodes, mail house, presort and co-mingling a plus
- Knowledge of computer shipping systems or basic software aptitude
- Experience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and business mail entry requirements
- Forklift, Reach Truck and Clamp Truck certified
- Meticulous administrative and organizational skills
- Experience in the printing industry a plus but not required
- Able to listen effectively and adapt to changing conditions
- Be flexible with hours and work days
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- This position requires organizational and people skills, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and able to work 1st or 2nd shift and extended work hours

Working Conditions
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounter while performing the essential functions of this job in an indoor warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and may be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear and to stand and use hands. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. It is a fast-paced environment, subject to schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
