Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO), the Senior Director plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, overseeing technology-focused program management, and ensuring operational excellence across IT and digital functions. This role serves as a trusted advisor and operational leader, ensuring alignment between the CDO’s vision and the execution of IT and business priorities.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with the CDO to define and implement strategic objectives for IT and digital transformation.
  • Translate the CDO’s vision into actionable plans, ensuring cross-functional alignment and timely execution.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward IT and organizational goals.

Technology Program Management:

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional technology programs, including cloud adoption and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with IT leaders to design program roadmaps, manage budgets, and deliver technology solutions that meet business needs.
  • Proactively identify risks, manage dependencies, and ensure program milestones are achieved.

Operational Team Leadership:

  • Provide direction to IT and operational teams, driving a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Ensure seamless coordination across teams to deliver technology solutions and operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct performance reviews for operational initiatives and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Technology and Cloud Strategy:

  • Support initiatives to migrate legacy systems to the cloud and optimize cloud infrastructure for security, performance, and cost.
  • Work with IT leaders to align cloud adoption strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Stay informed of emerging trends in cloud technologies to identify opportunities for improved scalability and operational efficiency.

Executive Support and Liaison:

  • Act as a bridge between the CDO and IT stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities.
  • Prepare strategic reports, analyses, and presentations to support the CDO in executive and board-level discussions.
  • Manage the CDO’s operational priorities by filtering requests and focusing on high-impact initiatives.

Process Optimization and Change Management:

  • Oversee efforts to streamline IT processes using automation, cloud-based tools, and digital platforms.
  • Lead change management initiatives to support the adoption of new systems, technologies, and workflows.
  • Evaluate the impact of technology changes and refine strategies to optimize outcomes.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including technology vendors, consultants, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Represent the CDO’s office in discussions with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on IT and digital priorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Technology, or a related field (equivalent technical training or certification preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in technology leadership, program management, or IT operations roles.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their role in enabling organizational goals.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience working closely with C-level executives and navigating complex organizational dynamics.

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform essential job duties.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each workday), hear the telephone, and enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
