Summary
The Sr. Analyst, FP&A will play a key role in driving financial analysis and decision support for SG&A functions, with an added focus on IT and HR support. This position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on SG&A expenses, providing actionable insights into cost drivers, variance analysis, and overall efficiency. As a subject matter expert on all aspects of SG&A financials, the Sr. Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and clear communication of financial performance. The role will also involve the development of advanced financial models, pro-forma financial statements, and support for strategic initiatives that require in-depth financial analysis as needed. Strong expertise in financial modeling, critical thinking, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders will be essential to success in this dynamic and high-impact role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage budgets and forecasts for departments, projects, and as needed, in addition to developing an in-depth understanding of all impacting variables to become an SME
- Perform detailed variance analysis elucidating drivers in each accounting period, especially in support of IT and HR to enable deep understanding of results and quick decision making
- Act as key contact to business partners and intermediary between Accounting and other groups to ensure agreement of all numbers and alignment of recognition
- Provide actionable insights and strong reporting commentary, including development of metrics and their reporting
- Support FP&A leadership in deck preparation, consolidation, QC, etc.
- Proactively identify and action process improvements, support systems’ implementations, etc.
- Ad-hoc corporate project modeling, analysis and reporting
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
- Master in Business Administration (MBA) and/or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) preferred
- 3-5 years of relevant FP&A experience required, of which IT Finance was a substantial portion
- Advanced Excel & PowerPoint skills required (modern functions, keyboard shortcuts, etc.)
- Strong grasp of general business, financial concepts and accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong analytical and research skills – ability to source answers and information independently
- Knowledge of financial software and systems, especially major D365 & major EPM solutions (e.g., Planful, Hyperion)
- Demonstrated attention to detail as well as the ability to summarize results
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple, often competing, interests while working independently
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including ability to present to groups
Working Conditions
Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each work day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
