Summary

The Manager, Finance will oversee pricing and commercial margin governance and lead Finance review of customer-facing proposals. This individual will serve as the final Finance checkpoint in the estimation process – validating major cost inputs, ensuring margin discipline, and reinforcing financial accountability across quoting activity.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role with significant visibility across Sales, Estimating, and Operations. The right candidate will bring strong business judgment, a working command of job costing and standard cost principles, and the ability to influence outcomes in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Prior experience mentoring or managing others is strongly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Proposal Financial Review: Act as the final reviewer of pricing proposals to ensure appropriate burdening of labor, equipment, and overhead. Confirm that underlying assumptions are sound and aligned with both internal expectations and customer deliverables.
  • Maintain and Enforce Margin Standards: Apply a rigorous lens to proposed economics. Identify low-margin or structurally weak deals and work with commercial stakeholders to strengthen overall deal structure and profitability.
  • Partner Cross-functionally: Operate as a trusted partner to Sales, Estimating, and Operations. Use logic, clarity, and financial grounding to influence decisions and guide deal shaping without relying on formal authority.
  • Strengthen Processes and Controls: Help enhance workflows, pricing approval protocols, and documentation standards. Build scalable tools and governance structures that can support continued growth and complexity.
  • Support Strategic Finance Initiatives: Collaborate directly with the SVP, Global Finance and others as needed on cross-functional efforts tied to pricing, cost optimization, commercial performance, and/or general departmental needs. Take on projects that require structure, speed, and clear execution.
  • Coach and Uplift Others: Support and guide junior Finance team members on pricing, modeling, and analysis. Act as a consistent and credible voice in the team, with leadership opportunities ahead based on performance.
  • Support Broader Finance Efforts: Assist with ad hoc priorities across the Finance organization as needed - bringing structure, analysis, and execution support to a range of evolving business needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong technical understanding of cost burdening and margin analysis at both the item and job level
  • Demonstrable experience reviewing and validating commercial proposals or pricing structures
  • Familiarity with standard costing methodologies and their implications for deal economics
