Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Inventory Control I is to assist with the management of the inventory of all materials needed for the production floor. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the receiving of all materials in NAV
  • Responsible for verifying all incoming materials according to the packing lists provided
  • Responsible for entering and expediting transfers of inventory between facilities
  • Oversee and manage the receiving and storing of inventory at each ODS location
  • Conduct physical cycle counts daily
  • Conduct End of Month cycle counts
  • Conduct Year End cycle counts
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies within NAV
  • Report any stock issues to the Inventory Supervisor
  • Assist with the reporting of nonconforming and damages of materials
  • Assist with the reporting of return to stock (RTS)
  • Assist with destruction of client owned inventory and company materials
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures
  • Adhere to all compliance requirements
  • Keep area clean and clear of clutter
  • And other duties as required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School graduate, or completion of GED required
  • At least one year working in a warehouse or working with inventory
  • Ability to work independently and with other coworkers
  • Ability to drive a forklift or use pallet jacks when offloading trucks
  • Ability to read and understand packing slips
  • Ability to understand procedures on requesting material from inventory
  • Understand procedures on requesting material from inventory
  • Understand procedures on filling out and issuing material to floor
  • Understand procedures on returning material to inventory 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) 
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills necessary 
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds without restriction 
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, along with effective time-management abilities  
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems considered a plus
  • Must be able to work overtime

Working Conditions

Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 10 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
