Summary
The Sr. Platform Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering technical solutions that enable business transformation and modernization across ODS platforms. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative—bridging business requirements with technical execution while ensuring scalability, security, and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis & Clarification: Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and architects to analyze, refine, and translate business needs into clear, testable, and technically sound requirements.
- Technical Design & Documentation: Develop detailed solution documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow models, integration designs, and system interfaces.
- Solution Definition & Validation: Design and validate solutions that balance scalability, security, maintainability, and performance. Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and platform guidelines.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with development, Quality Engineering (QE), and QA teams to ensure designs are correctly implemented and thoroughly tested.
- Standards Alignment: Champion architectural consistency, documentation best practices, and compliance with security and regulatory (PHI/PII) standards.
- Risk Management: Identify design and implementation risks early, propose mitigation strategies, and validate technical feasibility.
- Mentorship & Technical Guidance: Provide technical mentorship to junior architects and engineers, reviewing solution artifacts and guiding best practices.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Research emerging technologies, frameworks, and cloud-native approaches (AWS, Azure) to enhance solution design and delivery efficiency.
- Migration & Modernization Support: Contribute to client and platform migrations by defining integration strategies, transition roadmaps, and reusable solution patterns.
Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications
- 6–9 years of experience in solution architecture, systems design, or technical consulting within complex enterprise environments.
- Proven expertise translating business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, agile methodologies, DevOps principles, and CI/CD processes.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud or distributed environments (AWS, Azure preferred).
- Proficiency in documenting architectures and workflows using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with an ability to influence across teams.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and requirements or test management systems (e.g., X-Ray).
- Understanding of security, compliance, and data governance requirements (PHI/PII).
Preferred Skills
- Experience in customer communication management (CCM), print/media, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Exposure to AI-driven testing, automation, or documentation tools.
- Experience leading technical design sessions or workshops.
- Knowledge of microservices, API integration, and event-driven architectures.
Working Conditions
Must be able to perform essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each workday), hear the telephone, and enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
