Summary
The Network Engineer II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and evaluation of network and communications equipment. Troubleshoots variety of user related network issues in daily business operations. Able to assist in new solution design evaluation and documentation.The Network Engineer II will apply proven monitoring and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues to maximize the availability and peroformance of Network Infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Network infrastructure install and support in highly available, multi data centers corporate IT and public facing services environment
- Responsible for monitoring plantforms, configuration management and reporting functions
- Manage global configuration, managing, and troubleshooting internal and external network
- Packet level analysis for network traffic
- Troubleshoot complex network issues while working within internal ticketing systems
- Interpret drawings/specifications and implement network configurations that meet those documented requirements
- Assist in evaluation of network products and service for new development in the networking industry
- Manage network infrastructure and connectivity to Amazon Web Service virtual private network
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar
- Certifications: MCSE, CCNA, FCNSA, CheckPoint and AWS
- A minimum two (2) years of full-time experience performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting on a variety of network, LAN, WAN and wireless technologies, including but not limited to firewalls, routers, switches, wireless controllers, access points and end users
- Networking: Switches, Routers, Hubs, Servers, Cables, Racks, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
- Systems: Windows, Cisco Systems, Linux
- Must be flexible with schedule
- Must be honest, responsible, self-motivated and very willing to learn
- Perform all work and activities with honesty and integrity
- Ability to work overtime/extended hours as required. Will be required to provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies, as needed, and occasional weekend maintenance

Working Conditions
Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each work day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
