Summary
The Production Control Coordinator I is responsible for managing production workflow, monitoring job schedules, deploying incoming jobs into production, providing quality assurance and inventory management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and expedite flow of materials for printing and finishing
- Update scheduling at the start and end of shift
- Log all jobs into Time Tracker
- Log out all jobs after they have been completed by each production department
- Monitor production throughout shifts
- Help to insure all jobs are out by scheduled due dates
- Update master folder for the daily shift reports
- Follow record retention protocol for daily shift reports
- Identify potential production issues and escalate them to management, offering practical solutions or enhancements
- Notify the team concerning equipment that is in down or in need of repair
- Communicate with other Production Control Coordinators via shift turnover notes and daily shift turn meetings
- Operate in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure 100% accuracy and quality with all orders
- Keep workstation clean and organized
- Communicate with management on any issues not meeting Company standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related manufacturing experience required
- Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, along with effective time-management abilities
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is also required
- Strong mathematical skills are required
- Computer literacy with the ability to work with various file structures (pdfs, proficient in MS Excel reports) and managing data
- Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems considered a plus
- Must be able to work overtime
Working Conditions
Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 10 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
